I am currently entering my 3rd semester of nursing school out of 5 and I bought this book for my 2nd semester. I mainly bought this book for my mental health HESI and it was the best nursing book I have bought so far. The Green boxes in each section are absolute gold and really help you focus on what you need for the HESI. The book is sectioned off by subject like mental health, fundamentals, med-serg, etc. By no means is this the only book you need to pass the HESI. You also have to rely on the knowledge you have gained throughout your current semester and previous semesters, but as I said above it is a great summery to help focus all the material you have learned so far and PAY ATTENTION to the green boxes. My HESI had at least one question from every green box. Our college requires an 850 to pass and I got a 1002 (88%) and there was a girl who bought this book too and she made a 100% (no joke, didn't believe her till I saw it for myself). **Note her score is not typical. Hope this book brings you the knowledge and everything you are looking for in a prep book.
I am in nursing school and we are required to take HESI exams every semester (each exam is worth 3% of our grade). I usually do not study for HESI exams, but after taking two semester off (had a baby) I apparently need to study now because I failed the peds/maternity HESI (I scored an 875). I purchased this book and when it came in I read over the peds and maternal sections once. I re-took the HESI exam and made a 1100.I will always read over this book prior to HESI exams in the future. It has a LOT of information that is on the HESI exam and is very helpful.
You need this for the nursing school HESI's. End of story
I highly recommend for a RN nursing student, however a LPN/ LVN student can benefit for this book as well! I also recommend for someone getting ready to take their boards and wants a overview refresher. I was expecting a thick NCLEX book, its fairly thin compared to my other NCLEX RN books. Don't be concerned with the size because the book is AWESOME!!! One of the best investments I have made in my education, I can not communicate how great the book is. It tells you what causes disorder, the signs and symptoms, the assessment, the evaluation, drug therapies, and surgeries etc. etc. Just a good book ðŸ˜
BUY THIS FOR THE HESI TESTS EACH SEMESTER! I purchased this book for my block 1 hesi and got a very high score. I would also recommend purchasing the Saunders book. I read this book, then read the corresponding chapter in the Saunders book and answered the questions at the end of the Saunders book. I would purchase both new because they have question banks online.
This book and its practice questions helped me pass my Exit Hesi Exam. My friend had the newer version of the book and ended up using mine instead. She preferred this over the newer version.
It stated in the description that it would include the access code. My access code has already been used therefore I do not get the 7 practice exams and the 700 practice questions. Not impressed to say the least. The book so far seems very informative and helpful. Just don’t waste your money and go on evolve and buy it.
This text will help you pass nursing school! I used this and my materials for Maternity and Med Surge and passed my exam with a 98! Loved the boxes, interventions and Review questions at the end of each chapter.
